Service Manager - Medical  | (Hands-On)

Are you an experienced technical specialist ready to step into a leadership role where you can shape processes, mentor a team, and stay hands-on with advanced medical technology?

We are partnering with an established, Australian-owned pioneer in specialised healthcare technology to appoint a dynamic Service Manager based in Adelaide.

This is a new role designed for a hands-on technical expert who wants to combine electromechanical servicing with team leadership, compliance building, and operational oversight.

In this pivotal position, you will lead a small, dedicated team of technicians while remaining actively involved in preventative maintenance (PPM), complex breakdowns, installations, and critical documentation that feeds directly into our client's R&D initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a small technical team, establishing clear accountability, training pathways, and performance standards.

  • Process & Compliance Building: Build out robust operational structures, service workflows, and compliance frameworks to elevate service delivery standards.

  • Hands-On Technical Delivery: Maintain a hands-on approach to advanced diagnostics, repairs, calibration, and installation of specialized ultrasonic cleaning systems and medical equipment.

  • R&D Collaboration: Document technical fixes, equipment performance insights, and validation protocols to pass directly to the R&D and engineering teams.

  • Operations & Travel Management: Oversee service scheduling and logistics, requiring occasional interstate travel (approximately every couple of months) and monthly state-wide travel.

What You Bring

  • Technical Background: Formal qualification in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (Diploma or Degree).

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading, training, or supervising a small technical team, with a strong focus on process improvement and accountability.

  • Electromechanical Expertise: Deep practical experience in electronics troubleshooting, equipment repair, and mechanical fault-finding within a regulated environment.

  • Process Orientation: Demonstrated ability to build out compliance structures, documentation protocols, and operational workflows from the ground up.

  • Communication & Adaptability: Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, proactive approach to balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical work.

Why Join?

  • Competitive Remuneration: Offering a base salary of $110,000 - $120,000 plus superannuation.

  • Hybrid Impact: Enjoy the best of both worlds with a role that combines strategic leadership, process creation, and team development with hands-on engineering and R&D collaboration.

  • Stable & Reputed Business: Join a proud Australian-owned leader with a strong legacy of innovation and industry respect.
